Fact 1: Bears can purr
This is a bear that can't be released into the wild interacting with her handler, I do not reccomend putting your hand in a wild bear's mouth

Fact 2: Despite being apex predators, most bears are omnivores.
Exceptions include polar bears which are carnivorous and pandas/spectacled bears which are herbivorous.

Fact 3: The name 'teddy bear' comes from US president Theodore Roosevelt.
While on a hunting trip, he refused to kill a bear that was tied to a tree and got mocked for it by papers and political cartoonists. Then someone made+sold "Teddy's Bear". Shit 1900s memes.

Fact 5: A fat bear is a successful bear
Bears need to store fat for hibernation- the more body fat they have in reserve, the more likely they are to survive the winter when they can't scavenge or hunt.
This is also true of bears in the gay community.

Fact 6: Bears are often seen being silly
They are known to use swingsets, play-fight, sit at picnic tables, float on their backs in water, sunbathe and generally lounge around enjoying life.
This is also true of bears in the gay community.

Fact 7: My favourite bear is the kodiak bear
If you've ever seen a video of a bear in captivity waving, it was likely a kodiak- many are retired circus animals.
It's also possible they are just mimicking humans waving at them, and associating it with getting food in return. In the wild, bears will also stand up and wave their arm as a territorial display.
Either way, they look very polite.

Theft, trespassing, property damage. These are only some of the crimes these rapscallions commit.

Fact 11: Bears were around as late as the Pleistocene era

There were even bears in britain- although the exact date of their extinction seems to be unclear. It's likely some more recent bear remains were actually descendents of bears that had been imported by the Roman empire.
